We are pleased to announce that Dr. Kevin M. Mwenda has been appointed Associate Editor of Populations (ISSN: 3042-4372).

Dr. Kevin M. Mwenda earned his Ph.D. in geography (geographic information science & cartography) from the University of California, Santa Barbara, USA. Dr. Mwenda is an Associate Professor of population studies (Research) at the Population Studies and Training Center (PSTC) and the Director of  Spatial Structures in the Social Sciences (S4). Dr. Mwenda is also a faculty affiliate at the Data Science Institute (DSI), Institute at Brown for Environment and Society (IBES), and the Sociology Department.

Dr. Mwenda’s research focuses on spatial disparities in health outcomes among vulnerable populations around the world, and how these patterns are influenced by various environmental, climatic, and socioeconomic factors. His research interests include designing and applying methods that contextualize space and place in respect to vulnerability outcomes, to better understand human-environment dynamics (e.g., population health, climate and society).
