Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Acoustics through advanced structures offers an innovative challenge for the control and manipulation of sound waves that are often unachievable through conventional materials. Simultaneously, recent advances in materials science, technology, and smart materials, including fabrication, have allowed the practical realization of a variety of new assembled structures, including piezoelectric, magnetoelectroelastic, functionally graded, and porous functionally graded materials, leading to opportunities for supplementary application in the field of wave control. The development of the topic and growing interest in the field of acoustics from scientists with experiences in the field of sound and composites and beyond are the main reasons for this Special Issue on “Numerical Modelling in Wave Propagation of Advanced Materials”. Contributions may focus on new advancements, both theoretical and experimental, related to the sound in nano-/microstructures, structural acoustics, fluid–structure interactions, wave propagation, and vibroacoustic though are not limited to these topics. The current issue is considered to provide scientists and researchers with a platform for presenting their work in the field and to publish their thinking on the design, simulation, and characterization of new configurations, highlighting innovative dynamic phenomena and discovering additional promising applications. With this Special Issue, we hope to also stimulate cross-fertilization between researchers of the field with other readers of the journal, providing the chance to find new potential fields of research.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Modelling is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1000 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
