Recruiting Editor-in-Chief for the International Journal of Topology


The International Journal of Topology is a new, international, peer-reviewed, and open access journal on differential topology, algebraic topology, manifolds, geometry, and related applications. Its purpose is to provide a platform for research and development in various fields of topology, expand topology to a wider range of applications, and promote the development of mathematics. This journal is published quarterly online by MDPI.

To ensure the continued efficient and high-quality production of our journal, we are currently seeking nominations and applications for the position of Editor-in-Chief to lead the development of the journal.

The responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief include the following:

  • Acting as an ambassador for the journal, MDPI, and open access;
  • Making scientific decisions on the journal's scope;
  • Inviting distinguished scientists to join the Editorial Board;
  • Suggesting topics for Special Issues;
  • Providing support and guidance to Editorial Board Members and editorial staff where required;
  • Overseeing the editorial process for individual manuscripts;
  • Understanding, leading, and upholding MDPI’s peer-review and ethics guidelines;
  • Chairing the annual Editorial Board meeting.

As an Editor-in-Chief, you will have the unique opportunity to network and communicate with scholars in the topology community, build long-term relationships, and establish your influence within your discipline. Appointed members will also receive an Editor Certificate confirming this role. In addition, you will have the opportunity to publish two papers per year free of charge in the International Journal of Topology. The term for this position is two years, and it can be renewed.
