The Journal of Clinical Medicine (JCM, ISSN: 2077-0383) held an Editorial Board Meeting for the Section “Cardiovascular Medicine” on 12 December 2023. We greatly appreciate the Section Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Nathan Wong, for hosting this meeting and there were 12 Editorial Board Members in attendance.
The meeting started with a presentation about the development of the journal and the Section “Cardiovascular Medicine”, with the following information being presented:
- Journal history, publication statistics, distribution of scholars (2018–2023), open access benefits, journal awards, 2024 ECCM Conference, promotion on social media;
- Geographical distribution of the Section’s Editorial Board Members, decision-making statistics, and Section statistics.
The meeting mainly discussed hot topics and emerging themes within the Section, the geographical distribution of our authors, Feature Paper invitations, quality control for both reviewers and review reports, tools for detecting plagiarism and AI generation, society collaborations, social media promotion, etc.
Based on the discussion, the journal intends to keep an eye on trending topics within the Section, investigate new themes, promote publications more widely, conduct meetings on specific cardiovascular topics, fortify its collaboration with the societies that our Editorial Board Members are part of, and improve publicity for the 2024 ECCM Conference, among other things.
We would like to thank every Editorial Board Member and the academics for their great support. We look forward to receiving more support and suggestions so that we can continue our progress together.
