21 April 2023
2023 World Book and Copyright Day

We join UNESCO and the international community in celebrating World Book and Copyright Day—a celebration to promote the enjoyment of books and reading. Every year, on 23 April, celebrations take place all over the world to recognize the scope of books, described by UNESCO as “a link between the past and the future, a bridge between generations and across cultures”. Copyright is also a crucial way to provide authors with a set of rights to enable them to utilize their work and to be recognized as the creators. As an Open Access publisher, it is important to us that authors and scholars retain the copyright for their works. Therefore, it is time to celebrate the power of books and the importance of copyright protection together!

MDPI Books is committed to making scholarly content accessible to everyone. This means that all of our published content is open access and available in the MDPI Open Access Books Library.

By publishing in an open access format, we ensure that your book has the potential to reach a wider audience and have a greater impact. We prioritize the rights of our authors by ensuring that they retain the copyrights to their books and can share their knowledge freely.
