Editor-in-Chief Vacancy: Journal of Low Power Electronics and Applications

The Journal of Low Power Electronics and Applications (JLPEA—ISSN 2079-9268) is an open access journal that provides an advanced forum for the study of electronics for low power applications. We are currently seeking nominations and applications for the position of Editor-in-Chief (EiC) of JLPEA.

Given today’s rapid advances in technology and the expansion of mobile applications, energy consumption in both high performance microprocessors and low- to medium- performance portable systems has become a key research topic in microelectronics systems design. In high performance systems, energy and peak power place limits on further increases in speed, complexity and density. In portable battery operated devices such as cellular phones, bio-medical devices, sensor networks and other IoT devices, energy consumption is critical since it determines the lifetime of the battery (for non-rechargeables) or the time between recharges. It also affects the packaging, cost and weight of the device. JLPEA is a unique forum to address all these critical areas.

The editorial board of JLPEA, consisting of international experts, invites research papers and communication letters which emphasize and focus on solutions for energy reduction in microelectronic systems and their applications, in particular for ultralow power bio-medical and IoT applications. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical research from the device—through circuit, logic, architecture—and up to the system level.

Since its founding, the journal has published more than 150 papers with a median
time to first decision of 28 days. The Scopus CiteScore of the JLPEA was 1.05 in 2017 (https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21100332242).

Applicants must have strong, relevant experience in their capacities as author, reviewer, and/or associate editor of related journals. The EiC must also be well-recognized in related areas of expertise. The chosen EiC will be responsible for defining the scope and orientation of the journal, working with the editorial board, and overseeing the editorial process.

A personal statement summarizing a proposed vision and plans for JLPEA

The deadline for submissions is 15 May 2018. The target start date for the new Editor-in-Chief 1 July 2018.
