Surfaces | Scope Update

To further enhance the quality of Surfaces (ISSN: 2571-9637) and the papers published in it, under the guidance of our Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Gaetano Granozzi, the journal has updated and revised its scope. The original scope and the updated version are listed below:

Scope (new version):

Scope (old version):

Topics include but are not limited to:

  • 2D materials and heterostructures;
  • Adsorption;
  • Biointerfaces and interfacial phenomena in biology and nanomedicine;
  • Electrochemistry;
  • Etching and nanolithography;
  • Functional coatings;
  • Heterogeneous catalysis, photocatalysis, electrocatalysis;
  • Nanoparticles and nanomaterials;
  • Porous materials;
  • Surface and interface physics & engineering;
  • Surface chemistry and reactivity;
  • Surface corrosion and corrosion resistance;
  • Surface deposition methods;
  • Surfactants;
  • Thin films.

Types of submissions not considered:

  • Manuscripts in which surfaces are irrelevant;
  • Manuscripts in which SEM, TEM, or X-ray diffraction techniques serve as the unique mode of characterization of the materials analyzed, as these are not considered surface tools;
  • Manuscripts in which the experimental data are not adequately discussed;
  • Manuscripts in which the physico-chemical aspects of surfaces are not addressed, e.g., medical, toxicological, or metallurgical papers.
