Occupational health serves as a critical foundation for human well-being and sustainable socioeconomic development. In the context of advancing science, technology, and economic globalization, this field now confronts unprecedented challenges and opportunities. Traditional occupational hazards remain unresolved, while new risks continue to emerge, such as psychosocial stresses associated with digital technologies, workplace transformations driven by artificial intelligence, and gaps in health protection for workers in the informal economy. Meanwhile, global trends such as population aging, climate change, the transition to green energy, the increasing burden of chronic diseases, and evolving lifestyles impose additional demands on occupational health systems.
In response to these complex issues, the journal Occupational Health (ISSN: 3042-8637) [1] was established. This journal aims to create a multidisciplinary platform for academic exchange. It will focus on scientific research, the translation of knowledge into practice, and policy making and evaluation in the field of occupational health. A central goal is to deepen the integration between protecting workers’ health and promoting safe, healthy, and dignified working environments.
The journal’s primary objectives are as follows:
  • To foster interdisciplinary research that integrates methods from exposure science, toxicology, epidemiology, basic and clinical medicine, ergonomics, psychology, management science, and health economics. Such integrated approaches are essential for systematically analyzing the etiology of occupational health problems and developing effective interventions.
  • To strengthen the translation of scientific evidence into practice. The journal will emphasize the value of workplace case studies, intervention evaluations, and policy analyses to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in occupational health management.
  • To address pressing global issues by examining the occupational health implications of major trends, including digital transformation, climate change, and the growth of green employment. This will provide a scientific basis for risk prevention and control in the future of work.
Occupational Health invites submissions of original research, reviews, short communications, etc. We particularly welcome rigorous, evidence-based scholarship with clear practical implications.
We look forward to collaborating with scholars, practitioners, and policymakers worldwide. Through these efforts, we aim to promote the perfect integration of scientific excellence and effective management practices. Our ultimate goal is to contribute to the creation of healthier, safer, and more sustainable working environments and to support the broader objectives of sustainable human development.
