Reviewer 2 Report (Previous Reviewer 1)

This version of the manuscript has more sense (no personal experiences). I still miss the overall objective of this paper, and the methods and results derived from this objective. Since is a theoretical manuscript, I would recommend to carry out a systematic or scoping review...

Author Response

Thank you so much for your feedback. This article provides a systematic review of the mental health and substance use disorder literature, both prior to and during the pandemic toward the objective of destigmatizing mental health issues and substance use disorder to provide recommendations to organizations regarding how they can better address these issues. The Merits Journal has also published similar articles in terms of having the objective of increasing awareness and understanding regarding a particular topic. Here is an example:

This manuscript is a resubmission of an earlier submission. The following is a list of the peer review reports and author responses from that submission.

Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This theoretical manuscript details the personal process of the author regarding difficult situations throughout her life while reflecting on the mental health of women during pandemic. In this sense, I am not able to qualify the "scientific" part of the article. Nevertheless, in my opinion, this article is interesting and leads the reader to reflect on how gender biases impact the mental health of women.

Reviewer 2 Report

The paper is concerned with the gender disparity under the pandemic of COVID-19. The author applies the idea of Phyllis Chesler on mental health of women to analyze the current situation under the pandemic. The language of this paper is very clear and readable.

Major comment

It seems to me that the main contents of the manuscript are just a general description under the pandemic and I do not find original contributions of the authors. I recommend the authors to employ an actual field study to enhance their idea.
