Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear authors,

Thank you for submitting a very relevant paper. Here are my comments:

  1. After line 57, please define the research gap, since it is not clear from the previous paragraph, what remains unresearched.
  2. After defining the research gap, please provide the aims of the research, possibly with research questions.
  3. Before line 67 (2.1  Concept of time to event data analysis), please provide a paragraph introducing the methodology chapter.
  4. Please explain in line 184, why only 500 cryptocurrencies out of 6,000 existing have available variables.
  5. In lines 192-202 you refer to Figure 3a, then 3c and 3d, and finally to 3b. Could you mention figures according to alphabetical order?
  6. Line 204: Please correct "cryptocuurrencies"
  7. In the section "4. Conclusions", please add:
    • a paragraph on limitations
    • a paragraph on future research
  8. In lines 235-236, please explain, why a bigger sample has not been studied.

Best regards,

Reviewer 2 Report

The paper investigated the cryptocurrencies and tokens lifetime analysis from 2009 to 2021. The topic is exciting and worthy of investigation. However, I think the following comments will make it better and more robust.
*Please add one or two paragraphs on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on cryptocurrencies. Therefore, I think more elaboration is needed to explain the COVID-19 pandemic impact in the introduction part.
*Also, the researcher(s) should pay attention to the research gap that is still not sufficient. Therefore, please add more arguments related to the research gap in the introduction.
*Please use the abbreviation once being introduced. For instance, (CPHM) for (Cox Proportional Hazards Model).
*Some citations of the reference lists are missing. Similar issues need to be fixed in reference lists. Consequently, please pay attention to the references to check them appropriately.
*Conclusions should be expanded, pointing to the limitations of the analyzed problem and defining the directions of further research. The current writing is not well structured.
*Along the same lines, it is necessary to mention the research implications in a separate section.
*Finally, please improve the language of the research paper.
I hope that my comments can help you to improve your manuscript.

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

Thank you for revising the manuscript thoroughly and addressed many of my concerns. The manuscript has been improved a lot. Good job. I reserve some minor concerns as below:
Although I can sense the article's motivation, it would be clearer if you add more arguments related to the research gap in the introduction NOT ONLY (the scientific analysis on the lifetime of cryptocurrencies is not yet popular).

Best Regards
