English Editor (Cover Letter Required)
MDPI is the largest open access publisher in the world, with over 400 journals across a wide range of disciplines. Our mission is to foster open science and scientific exchange by delivering high-quality peer-reviewed research to scholars around the globe. The English Editing Department works to ensure that all of MDPI’s manuscripts are published with clarity, consistency, and grammatical accuracy.
The Role: English EditorWe are looking for meticulous and dedicated individuals with a strong grasp of the English language and the nuances of academic writing to support scholars publishing their research. English Editors support academic research by editing the language of peer-reviewed papers to a publication-ready standard.
This is a full-time, in-office, entry-level position based in Singapore. Successful applicants undergo a probation period in which in-house training is provided by an experienced editor, after which there are opportunities to diversify the role and gain expertise in new areas.
Responsibilities- Edit scholarly articles submitted to MDPI journals to a publication-ready standard.
- Apply knowledge of the English language and the context of the manuscript to make the English clear, consistent, and grammatically correct, communicating the author’s message without changing their voice unnecessarily.
- Ensure manuscripts align with MDPI’s house rules.
- Meet tight deadlines and hit targets with a high degree of consistency.
- Take on additional roles, such as training colleagues within and outside of the department and editing corporate material.
- Cooperate with the Editorial and Production teams in the editorial process.
Essential criteria:
- Only Singaporeans and SPR
- A bachelor’s degree in any subject.
- Expert knowledge of the English language.
- Experience in editing, translating, or publishing.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of an international team.
- Right to work in Singapore.
Desirable skills and experience:
- Professional experience in academic research, editing, or publishing.
- Familiarity with LaTeX.
- Experience working in an office environment.

The position of Assistant Editor (Bachelor’s Graduates) is a full-time position based in Singapore.
As an Assistant Editor you will:
- Support the editorial process for academic research journals in your domain of expertise
- Organize peer review for submitted manuscripts and coordinate editorial decisions
- Handle email communication between the parties involved in the publication process
- Collaborate with other members of the editorial team and production team
- Ensure that scholarly articles are accurately edited and published according to tight deadlines with a high degree of consistency
Requirements:

Conference Producer / Conference Marketing Specialist
You will be responsible for the following areas:
- Market Research: Assist in conducting preliminary research on market trends, competitor landscapes, and industry challenges;
- Conference agenda curation: Assist in scheduling sessions with the chair and session chairs, coordinating with speakers and session chairs, and ensuring timely updates to the event agenda;
- Stakeholder Engagement: Assist in maintaining communication with key stakeholders, including chair, session chairs, speakers to create advocacy for our events
- Website Management: Assist in managing event websites, ensuring it is updated timely with the latest information, speakers, partners, and sessions;
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to partners, speakers, and stakeholders, resolving issues promptly;
- Team Coordination: Coordinate with editorial team, marketing team, live session teams;
- Editorial progress monitor: Work closely with the editorial team on abstract processing and with production teams on abstract book preparation;
- Live streaming of virtual conferences: Assist in coordinating and supporting the live streaming of virtual conferences, ensuring seamless technical operation, real-time troubleshooting, and smooth engagement throughout the session
- Assist in onsite delivery: Assist in the creation and delivery of event briefs for on-site delivery, ensuring exceptional on-site execution of the conferences to meet customer expectations;
- Plan and execute virtual conferences, ensuring seamless coordination and delivery of all sessions and activities
Others
- Recognize work processes and/or outcomes that are negatively impacting the project; owns the issue and takes action to address deficiencies by identifying resolutions and notifying the appropriate manager

Senior Conference Producer / Senior Conference Marketing Specialist
The Senior Conference Producer / Senior Conference Marketing Specialist is a full-time position based in Singapore. As a Senior Conference Producer / Senior Conference Marketing Specialist, you will play a key role as the driving force behind academic conferences. You will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of conference management from concept to execution, with specific responsibilities depending on the type of event. You can let us know your preference during the interview for Senior Conference Producer or Senior Conference Marketing Specialist role.
For virtual conferences, you will be responsible for overseeing both the production and marketing aspects, ensuring seamless execution and maximum engagement throughout the event.
For in-person conferences, you will be responsible for either production or marketing, though your role may extend beyond these areas as additional tasks arise, depending on the needs of the event.
You will be responsible for the following areas:
Production
- Market Research: Conduct in-depth research on market trends, competitor landscapes, and industry challenges;
- Value Proposition Creation: Discuss valid topics with the chair and write and deliver event briefs for the marketing and editorial teams;
- Conference Agenda Curation: Coordinate with chair and session chairs to select the oral and poster presentation candidates, schedule the presentation timing for all slots;
- Stakeholder Engagement: Establish relationships with key stakeholders, including chair, session chairs, and speakers to create advocacy for our events;
- Website Management: Keep event websites updated with the latest information, speakers, partners, and sessions;
- Budget Preparation and Tracking: Prepare budget forecast before the event, and update the budget regularly to check the potential profit and loss;
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to partners, speakers, and stakeholders, resolving issues promptly;
- Milestone Tracking: Monitor and track progress to ensure KPIs and event targets are achieved;
- Team Coordination: Coordinate with editorial team, marketing team, live session teams;
- Editorial Progress Monitor: Work closely with the editorial team on abstract processing and with production teams on abstract book preparation;
- Oversee Live Streaming: Oversee live streaming of virtual events to ensure the smooth operation of the live sessions;
- Onsite Delivery: Lead the creation and delivery of event briefs for on-site delivery, ensuring exceptional on-site execution of the conferences to meet customer expectations;
Marketing
- Marketing Strategy Creation: Ensure maximum outreach to target markets and promote the conference through various channels;
- Conference Collateral Materials Creation: Draft copies for brochures, banners, and sponsorship prospectus;
- Marketing Copywriting: Create promotional copy for marketing channels, including email campaigns, social media posts, media partners, and editorial needs;
- SEO Marketing: Improve the website ranking and increase website traffic;
- Sponsorship Marketing: Secure partners and coordinate their participation and sponsorship;
- Marketing Campaign Progress Tracking: Monitor and track progress to ensure the timely execution of all marketing schedules;
- Post-Event Analysis: Conduct evaluations and prepare detailed reports highlighting event outcomes;
