Postdoctoral Position at Emory University
31 Dec 2019
A post-doctoral position is available at Emory University in the laboratory studying the mechanisms of enveloped virus entry and host-pathogen interactions. We employ a variety of quantitative microscopy approaches, including time-resolved single virus tracking, super-resolution imaging, TIRF microscopy and correlative fluorescence-electron microscopy. New directions include the use of single-molecule force probes to delineate the mechanics of virus-cell interactions. The laboratory is equipped with a Zeiss LSM880 Airyscan spectral confocal microscope with FCS capability, a wide-field deconvolution DeltaVision microscope, and a three-color TIRF microscopy system. A successful candidate will work closely with members of a collaborative interdisciplinary team and an enthusiastic mentor. Highly motivated individuals with a Ph.D. degree in biophysics, cell biology, virology or related areas are encouraged to apply. Emory University provides an excellent collaborative environment and research support.
