Purification is a new international, open access journal that aims to provide an advanced forum for theories, novel technologies, and applications of purification in the fields of chemistry, biology, environment engineering, etc. This journal is published quarterly online by MDPI.

To ensure the continued efficient and high-quality production of our journal, we are currently seeking nominations and applications for the position of Editor-in-Chief to lead the development of the journal.

The scope of this journal includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• Ultra-pure substances;
• Water purification;
• Air purification;
• Gas purification;
• Biobased feedstocks/products purification;
• Inorganic chemical purification;
• Purification technologies;
• Design of various filters;
• Design of columns (shape, stationary phase packing);
• Bulk purification;
• Chemometrics application in purification.

As an Editor-in-Chief, you will have the unique opportunity to network and communicate with scholars in the field of purification research, build long-term relationships, and establish your influence within your discipline. Appointed members will also receive an Editor Certificate confirming this role. In addition, you will have the opportunity to publish two papers per year free of charge in Purification. The term for this position is two years, and it can be renewed.

The responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief include the following:

• Acting as an ambassador for the journal, MDPI, and open access;
• Making scientific decisions on the journal's scope;
• Inviting distinguished scientists to join the Editorial Board;
• Suggesting topics for Special Issues;
• Providing support and guidance to Editorial Board Members, and editorial staff where required;
• Maintaining oversight of the editorial process for individual manuscripts;
• Understanding, leading, and upholding MDPI’s peer-review and ethics guidelines;
• Chairing the annual Editorial Board meeting.
