At the beginning of 2022, the ongoing national agreement between MDPI and the Consortium of Swiss Academic Libraries (CSAL) was renewed through to the end of 2022.
The CSAL consortium is a strong proponent of open access internationally, working towards guaranteeing the quality and competitiveness of Switzerland as a university and research hub via a nationwide literature supply.
Institutions participating in the CSAL-MDPI agreement include University and University Hospital Basel, ETH Zurich and CERN. To access the complete list please visit here: https://www.mdpi.com/ioap.
Authors affiliated with a participating university receive a 20% discount on the article processing charge (APC) for any paper published in an MDPI journal. With the agreement, we intend to intensify our collaboration with Swiss authors and help them to benefit from publishing across our portfolio of open access journals.
MDPI is publishing more than 380 peer-reviewed open access journals across all scientific disciplines, supported by more than 115,000 academic experts. We now have seven active consortia agreements and we are seeking to support other national consortia in the transition to fully open access publishing.
The Consortium of Swiss Academic Libraries (CSAL) obtains licenses for scientific resources (electronic journals, e-books and databases). It offers a broad range of services and supports the efforts to establish a national Open Access strategy. It therefore plays an instrumental role in guaranteeing the quality and competitiveness of Switzerland as a university and research hub.
