Obituary—Prof. Dr. Valerio Nobili

The pediatric hepatologist Valerio Nobili, Chair of the Hepato-Metabolic Unit of Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital in Rome and faculty member of the Sapienza University of Rome, was an enthusiastic member of the Nutrients Editorial Board. He passed away prematurely on 15 March 2019, leaving a big void in the international pediatric GI community. Valerio conducted many innovative milestone studies which clarified, in particular, several aspects of the pathomechanisms of pediatric non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. This information has contributed to better care and quality of life of affected children and adolescents.
Valerio served on our Editorial Board for over a year and made important contributions to the journal's success. On behalf of the Editorial Board and the MDPI Editorial Team we offer our deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
