We are pleased to announce that a new scholar has been appointed Editorial Board Member (EBM) for Quaternary (ISSN: 2571-550X), effective October 2025. We wish our new member success in both his research and his efforts to develop the journal.

Interests: Chinese loess; quaternary science; monsoon and global change; atmospheric particulate pollution control; ecological and environmental management strategies
Prof. Dr. An is currently the Honorary Director of the Institute of Earth Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was elected as an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1991, a fellow of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) in 2000, and a Foreign Associate of the National Academy of Sciences in 2016.
He has been engaged in the study of loess, quaternary geology and global change for a long time. In the field of quaternary geology, and global change, he has systematically studied the accumulation and evolution of Chinese loess and its relationship with paleoclimate and paleoenvironment, and linked it with global climate change, with loess and related quaternary sediments as the main objects.
