MDPI Open Science Insights: Academic Publishing Workshop at the Medical University of Silesia, 13 February 2025, Zabrze, Poland

The Medical University of Silesia in Zabrze is collaborating with Cancers (ISSN: 2072-6694) to host an academic publishing workshop to help researchers improve their manuscript submission process. This session will cover essential topics such as writing scientific papers in English, understanding publication ethics, and addressing the most common reasons for article rejection. Participants will gain insights into how to avoid common pitfalls and enhance their chances of successful publication in scientific journals. Additionally, the session will cover an introduction to Cancers and MDPI journals, offering valuable insights into the editorial process and equipping attendees with the essential skills needed for writing and submitting papers.

Speakers:

Ms. Anna Krakowka

Ms. Anna Krakowka holds a master’s degree in materials engineering from the Czestochowa University of Technology in Poland. She joined MDPI as an Assistant Editor in January 2021 and later she served as the Publishing Manager for the journal Materials. She is now the Journal Relations Specialist for the Materials and Construction Materials journals.

Ms. Monika Mazurek

Ms. Monika Mazurek holds a master’s in psychology (Clinical Psychology and Neuroscience) from SWPs University in Warsaw. After starting her Ph.D. at Jagiellonian University, she is pursuing her clinical degree in psychotherapy in the Faculty of Medicine, at the Jagiellonian University Medical College. She joined MDPI in March 2021 as an Assistant Editor for the journal Brain Sciences and became a Section Managing Editor the following year. Since 2022, she has been working as a Journal Relations Specialist for several journals, including Allergies, Endocrines, Advances in Respiratory Medicine, and Brain Sciences. She has participated in many international congresses dedicated to medical and health sciences.
