Journal of Clinical Medicine | 2024 Editorial Board Meeting of the Section “Obstetrics and Gynecology”

Journal of Clinical Medicine (JCM, ISSN: 2077-0383) held its Editorial Board meeting for the Section “Obstetrics and Gynecology”, which was hosted by the Section Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Eyal Sheiner. Thirteen Editorial Board Members were in attendance on 17 December 2024. We are extremely grateful for the strong support of our Editorial Board Members and for the opportunity to have a face-to-face meeting to discuss the development of the Section, and we sincerely hope that more Editorial Board Members can join future meetings. We would like to invite you to review the contents of the Editorial Board meeting.

We discussed the following topics with the members:

  • The journal’s history, open access policy, and author benefits;
  • Journal publication statistics and an analysis of author distribution (2018–2024);
  • Journal awards, marketing activities, and social media promotion;
  • Section EBM overview, decision-making statistics, and Section development statistics.

The following information was covered in the Members’ discussion: We clearly defined our goal to provide high-quality publishing services, control peer review, publish high-quality articles, and provide a communication platform for health professionals. A series of practical measures were put forward for the Section to achieve this objective. First, we insist on having a high-quality peer review process; submissions need to be checked carefully. Meta-analysis reviews and interventional studies are welcomed. Secondly, we need to create a variety of Special Issues and actively promote highly cited Special Issues, which will draw more attention. Furthermore, we encourage the invitation of more influential scholars, especially obstetricians and gynecologists with statistical backgrounds to join the Section. Members also recommended some related congresses and associations to us for future collaborations. We believe that by implementing these measures, we can inject new vitality into the development of the Section and help the journal to move to a higher level.
