We are pleased to share the success of our MDPI conference. The 1st physical conference Pharmaceuticals 2024—Recent Advances in Pharmaceutical Sciences Towards a Healthy Life was held in Barcelona, Spain, from 27 to 29 November 2024. It was chaired by Prof. Dr. Amelia Pilar Rauter from the Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal; Dr. Alfredo Berzal Herranz from Instituto de Parasitología y Biomedicina López-Neyra (IPBLN) CSIC, Spain; and Prof. Dr. Mary Jane Meegan from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.

The event was jointly organized by the MDPI conference team and the journal Pharmaceuticals (ISSN: 1424-8247), with support from the Spanish Society Of Medicinal Chemistry (SEQT) and the Spanish Society For Biochemistry And Molecular Biology (SEBBM).

Covering, among others, the newest technologies and research areas in medicinal chemistry, natural products, organic synthesis, radiopharmaceuticals, pharmacology, toxicology, and biomolecular and glycosciences, this conference brought together experts to present their latest findings on combatting infection, inflammation, pain, and neurodegeneration, to cite only some of the relevant topics that were discussed.

We accepted a total of 95 abstracts, featuring 64 authors from 28 countries. Over the course of the three-day event, 32 posters were displayed and 29 talks were delivered, including 3 plenary talks, 8 invited talks, and 29 selected oral presentations.

Moreover, we are pleased to announce the winners of the two awards, including Best Presentation and Best Poster, recognizing the contributions of our participants during the conference.

We would like to highlight that the participants of this conference can submit their work to the Special Issue “Pharmaceuticals 2024—Recent Advances in Pharmaceutical Sciences Towards a Healthy Life” edited by Prof. Dr. Amélia Pilar Rauter, Dr. Alfredo Berzal-Herranz, and Prof. Dr. Mary J. Meegan in the Pharmaceuticals journal.
