Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

α-Aminophosphonic acids, α-aminophosphinic acids and their derivatives represent a crucial class of compounds with significant importance in both synthetic and medicinal fields. Recent years have witnessed a substantial emphasis on their synthesis, highlighting their fundamental role in various physiologic and pathologic processes, primarily functioning as inhibitors of proteolytic enzymes, where molecular stereochemistry is proven to be of critical importance.

This Special Issue is dedicated to providing a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in the field of α-aminophosphonic and α-aminophosphinic acids. It is organized around three primary themes: (1) the discovery of innovative synthetic methodologies, (2) studies aimed at enhancing the efficiency and generality of existing procedures, (3) the synthesis of novel α-aminophosphonic acids and α-aminophosphinic acids, and (4) the discovery and development of biologically active compounds.

We invite contributions that explore these themes, promoting discussions and knowledge exchanges among researchers at the forefront of the chemistry of these phosphonic and phosphinic analogs of α-amino acids.

By focusing on these areas, this Special Issue aims to consolidate the state-of-the-art in the synthesis of α-aminophosphonic acids, α-aminophosphinic acids, and their derivatives. We anticipate that this collection of research will provide valuable insights and inspire further advances in the field of organophosphorus chemistry.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Molecules is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
