Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Lipidomics and research describing how lipids regulate cell biology and physiology is a rapidly growing field, driven by technological advances in mass spectrometry, microscopy, and the analysis of large, complex datasets.

The 4th Australian Lipids Meeting (28–30 November, 2018, University of Sydney) will bring together researchers from different fields of lipidomics and lipid biology to discuss their work, current technology, and facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration.

In this Special Issue, we welcome papers focused on lipidomic analysis and/or lipid cell biology studies of pathophysiological conditions, including extended papers based on asbtracts presented at the 4th Australian Lipids Meeting. Papers dealing with advances in lipidomics and the integration of lipidomic data with other platforms are also welcome.

We encourage and welcome contributions from the broader metabolomics community, in addition to contributions based on asbtracts submitted to the 4th Australian Lipids Meeting.

More information about the 4th Australian Lipid Meeting can be found at: https://www.centenary.org.au/research/alm4/

Topics of interest include:

  • Lipidomics
  • Lipid metabolism
  • Lipid cell biology
  • Lipid signalling molecules

  • Lipids in neurological diseases
  • Lipids in cardiovascular diseases
  • Lipids in metabolic disease
  • The role of lipids in cancer
  • Integration of lipidomics with other platforms

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Metabolites is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
