The Regulation Networks of the Circadian Clock in Plants

Dear Colleague,

Over the past few decades, the field of plant circadian research has been booming, with growing evidence that the circadian clock contributes to the fitness of plants by regulating various aspects of plant growth and development, from photosynthesis to flowering and defence mechanisms.

The circadian clock enables plants to cope with diurnal environmental changes and compensate for their sessile nature through an endogenous regulatory network and mechanism. Furthermore, it is involved in numerous biological and physiological processes, such as photoperiodic flowering, growth, metabolism, hormones signalling, and stress responses, among others. Therefore, understanding how the circadian signalling network regulates these processes and vice versa, and how it affects productivity represents a pressing agronomic issue.

This Special Issue welcomes original research articles and comprehensive reviews on all aspects of the plant circadian system. Including but not limited to transcriptional, post-transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms of clock regulation, processes regulated by the clock and their connection with the predictable changes in light and temperature, etc. Articles related to modelling and computational studies unravelling plant clock insights are also welcome.
