Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue is devoted to all possible applications of the GPS-GNSS system, which is an important element of the global information infrastructure. Free and reliable access to the GPS-GNSS system has led to the development of hundreds of applications that affect every aspect of modern life.
GPS technology is currently used in everything from cell phones and precision watches to bulldozers, marine vessels, and even ATM machines. GPS improves productivity in various sectors of the economy, including agriculture, construction, mining, surveying, and postal services. Major network communications, banking systems, and electrical grids rely heavily on GPS for accurate time synchronization. GPS saves lives by preventing traffic accidents, facilitating search and rescue operations, and speeding up the delivery of emergency services and disaster relief. The solution to many pressing urban problems (for example, full automation of urban transport) is impossible without the widespread introduction of new GPS systems. It is vital for the next generation of the air transport system, which should contribute to improving flight safety while increasing airspace capacity, and is also necessary for solving scientific and practical problems, such as weather forecasting, earthquake monitoring, solving a number of tectono-geodynamic problems, and environmental protection.

Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
