2011 Inaugural issue released, initially published as a quarterly journal.
2015 Covered by the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and Scopus.
2015 First Impact Factor received (1.484).
2015 Two topical sections were setup: Optics & Lasers and Nanotechnology and Applied Nanosciences
2016 Changed to a monthly publication schedule.
2016 The 2015 Impact Factor was received (1.726).
2016 Three new Sections on Materials, Energy and Acoustics were set up.
2017 The 2016 Impact Factor was received (1.679).
2017 Two new Sections on Computer Science and Electrical Engineering and
Mechanical Engineering were set up.
2017 Applied Sciences published more than 1'000 papers in one year for the first time.
2018 The 2017 Impact Factor was received (1.689).
