Special Issue Information

We are pleased to invite you to submit original articles for publication in this Special Issue entitled "Extraction, Characterization, and Process Optimization of Natural Products".

This Special Issue is focused on all aspects related to the quality of plant-based products and the effects of manipulation processes. Extract optimization and comparative studies of extraction techniques and their effects on qualitative and quantitative composition and pharmacological profile are encouraged, as are comparative studies investigating quality in terms of the variability of natural sources. Furthermore, investigations into the effects of selected steps in the production chain (from plant growth to the final formulation of herbal-based products) on product quality are encouraged.

The goal of this Special Issue is the characterization of phytochemical and botanical features related to plant material-based natural products, with regard to the optimization and validation of analytical methods for the qualitative and quantitative fingerprint of secondary metabolites. Additionally, we welcome papers on bioinformatics and pharma-toxicological evaluations unraveling the mechanism of action of botanicals and natural products.

Innovative and eco-biocompatible approaches are encouraged, with a special emphasis on the modern concept of sustainability.
