Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Diabetic foot ulcers are a common and serious complication of diabetes mellitus. The prevalence of this complication is about 12%. About 60% of all non-traumatic lower extremity amputations occur in patients with diabetes. Over 85% of these cases are in patients with diabetes.

The factors leading to the development of diabetic foot ulcers are obviously important in preventing the occurrence and treatment of this complication. Thus, conversations on this subject remain germane.

This Special Issue will welcome material (case reports, case series, reviews, original articles, etc.) regarding pathogenic factors such as neuropathy, arteriopathy, infections, and trauma, as related to the production of foot ulcers. The diagnosis and therapeutics of these pathogenic factors will also be considered. Since not all ulcers on the feet of patients with diabetes are diabetic foot ulcers, other forms of ulcers (malignant ulcers, surgical ulcers, deep fungal infections, etc.) will be considered. Historical aspects of diabetic foot ulcers, e.g., the evolution of therapeutics over time, will also be considered, as well as complementary and alternative approaches to diabetic foot ulcers.

The final date for the reception of manuscripts is 31 October 2023.

We thank you in advance for your submissions and look forward to receiving them.
