Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Biostatistics, the application of statistics to a vast array of biological topics, has been a cornerstone of the health sciences for decades. Biostatistics has evolved and expanded over time, playing a crucial role in the design and analysis of medical, public health, and biological research studies. Informatics and omics have made it easier to understand disease patterns, identify risk factors, and evaluate the efficacy of treatments. This Special Issue intends to delve deeper into the current applications of biostatistics in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease.

This Special Issue aims to provide a forum for researchers and medical practitioners to discuss the most recent findings, methodologies, and applications of biostatistics in the fields of disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. The Issue’s scope includes, but is not limited to, the application of biostatistics in epidemiology, clinical trials, health services research, bioinformatics, genomics, proteomics, and precision medicine. We welcome submissions that demonstrate innovative statistical methods, novel applications, and the integration of biostatistics with other disciplines to address complex health issues.

In recent years, biostatistics has been at the forefront of numerous health sciences breakthroughs. The advent of AI, machine learning, and big data has created new opportunities for biostatistics applications. The development of statistical methods for analyzing high-dimensional data, the use of predictive modeling in disease diagnosis and prognosis, and the application of biostatistics in the design and analysis of randomized controlled trials for evaluating new treatments are all examples of cutting-edge research. This Special Issue aims to highlight the impact of such groundbreaking research on disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

We invite submissions of original research papers, review articles, and communications that contribute to the issue's theme. We welcome discussions of new statistical analysis methods and innovative applications of existing methods. Additionally, we seek insightful reviews of current practices in the application of biostatistics in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. We particularly encourage submissions that demonstrate the integration of biostatistics with other disciplines, such as genomics, bioinformatics, and health informatics, in order to address complex health issues. Discussions of the ethical, legal, and social implications of the application of biostatistics to health research are also welcome.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Journal of Personalized Medicine is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
