Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Infection is an important cause of morbidity and mortality among hemodialysis patients. Hemodialysis patients cause various infections not only bacterial but also fungal, mycobacterial or viral infection. In clinical settings, attending physicians should differentiate various infectious diseases and accomplish the appropriate treatment. However, epidemiological information (morbidity and mortality) on such infections in hemodialysis patients is limited, and specific risk factors for the development of infections and mortality, key features to suspect, the novel methods to improve accurate diagnosis and new strategies to improve clinical care are required. The optimization of antimicrobial dosing, treatment duration and management of infections in hemodialysis patients also needs to be developed.

This Special Issue aims to publish high-quality manuscripts related to the clinical infections in hemodialysis patients. In the era of the elderly dialysis population, further research to improve medical practice of infections in hemodialysis patiens is warranted. We eagerly anticipate the submission of your pioneering initiatives and research accomplishments in this domain.
