10–12 August 2016, Galway, Ireland
2016-Livestock Waste Conference

Economic development, population growth and demand for a better quality of life have resulted in the growth of the livestock farming industry. This industry generates a large amount of wastewater and wastes, and is one of the largest agricultural pollution sources in Ireland and in most developing and developed countries. The livestock farming industry is also a major source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Great efforts have been made worldwide to develop innovative technologies and practices for managing livestock waste. This has prompted the Ryan Institute, NUI Galway to organize the 2nd International Conference on Recent Advances in Pollution Control and Resource Recovery for the Livestock Sector (LivestockWaste2016).

The topics covered in LivestockWaste2016 conference will include (but will not be limited to):

  1. Policies and regulations on animal waste management
  2. Technologies for animal waste prevention
  3. Pollution control technologies
  4. Resource recovery technologies and practice
  5. Greenhouse gas emission mitigation for livestock farming
