Feature Review Papers in Geological Oceanography

This Special Issue Reprint of ‘Feature Review Papers in Geological Oceanography’ was conceived as a way to attract a broad array of academics to write on their specializations in the study of paired contemporary and ancient ecosystems as preserved in the rock record tracing far back in geologic time.  Contributions were submitted by experts actively working on these topics from institutions all around the world, in the United States, Europe, Russia, China, Africa, and Australia. Topics as distinct as rocky shores, reefs, coastal sand dunes, and tsunami deposits were collected, with a focus on the how these systems enter the Earth’s rock record and how a close examination of modern processes helps with their interpretation.
