USC Dornsife INET Presents a Conference on "Housing, Urban Development, and the Macroeconomy"

The USC Dornsife Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET) organizing committee is hosting a conference on "Housing, Urban Development, and the Macroeconomy" to be held on April 6-7, 2018 at the University of Southern California. Confirmed speakers include: David Albouy (University of Illinois), Morris A. Davis (Rutgers Business School), Stuart Gabriel (UCLA), Kristopher Gerardi (Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta), Matteo Iacoviello (Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System), and Joe Vavra (Chicago Booth).

The focus of the conference will be on the inter-play of housing markets and the economy at the national and different spacial levels, states, regions, urban centers, and local neighborhoods. The committee invites papers that study the relationships between housing markets and finance and between housing markets and spatial disparities and their implications for the macroeconomy. Papers that study the relationships between housing markets and finance and between housing markets and spatial disparities and their implications for the macroeconomy are also welcome.

The first-round paper submission deadline was Friday, January 5, 2018. However, we are still accepting papers. To submit your work, please register and upload your document at http://dornsife.usc.edu/inet/housing-registration. We will notify authors of accepted papers via email by Thursday, February 1, 2018. We will provide hotel accommodations for a two-night stay for conference presenters.
