Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This is the 6th edition of the international workshop on cooperative games and multiagent systems (CoopMAS-2015), held on May 5, 2015 in Istanbul, Turkey.

The use of cooperative game theory to study how agents should cooperate and collaborate, along with the related topic of coalition formation, has received growing attention from the multiagent systems, game theory, artificial intelligence, and electronic commerce communities.  The focus of much of the current work in this area has been on exploring methods by which agents can form coalitions so as to solve problems of joint interest, make group decisions, and distribute gains arising from such cooperation.

The workshop focuses on topics related to cooperation in multi-agent systems, cooperative game theory, cooperative solution concepts, coalition formation, and applications, including:

  • Cooperative game theory
  • Coalition formation
  • Joint decision making and voting
  • Representation issues
  • Negotiation
  • Collaborative filtering
  • Market and economics based cooperation
  • Behavioral models for cooperative games
  • Applications of cooperative solution concepts

The workshop should be of interest to researchers who study the mathematical and algorithmic properties of cooperative games; researches interested in promoting cooperation in multiagent systems, designing and implementing collaborating agents and mechanisms that incentivize cooperation; and researchers studying the underlying connections between cooperative game theory and other topics in game theory and computer science. We also welcome participants who are interested in applications of cooperative game theory (for example, trading agents, recommender systems, and energy and water management).

To extend the impact of this workshop to the multiagent systems and game theory communities, the scientific committee is organizing a Special Issue of Games dedicated to this symposium entitled “Selected Papers from the 6th Workshop on Cooperative Games in Multiagent Systems (CoopMAS-2015)”. We kindly invite the attendees to participate in this Special Issue.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Games is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
