Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

As one of the basic forms of energy, thermal energy plays an important role in our daily life and in industrial applications. For applications aimed at obtaining thermal energy, such as solar thermal systems, it is important to achieve a high conversion efficiency. On the other hand, for applications where thermal energy is an undesired byproduct, such as electronic devices, it is vital to minimize thermal energy conversion or to realize efficient thermal energy dissipation. Recent years have witnessed an increased demand for solutions that provide efficient thermal energy conversion, storage, and transport in order to address global and regional issues such as climate change, uneven distribution of natural resources, increased performance of industrial products, and so on. These solutions usually rely on new materials, innovative designs, and feasible implementations, all of which require a deep understanding of thermal energy conversion and transport from theoretical, modeling, and experimental points of view.

This Special Issue aims to present and disseminate recent advances in the theory, modeling, experiment, and applications of materials related to thermal energy conversion and transport.

Topics of interest for publication include, but are not limited to:

  • Energy conversion processes and applications related to thermal energy;
  • Theory, modeling, and experiment of thermal energy conversion and transport in materials;
  • Thermal management solutions;
  • Heat exchanger design;
  • Thermal energy storage systems;
  • Phase change materials;
  • Solar thermal systems;
