This Special Issue on “Challenges and Perspectives of Social Networks within Social Computing” aims to engage readers with original research, advancements, developments, and experiments from various fields. It addresses methods, tools, and applications for sentiment analysis in social networks, exploring the vast amounts of text data from social media for evidence-based policy-making. This collection discusses the use of web data, compiling information from social networks for smart tourism consultancy. It examines Social Intelligence Mining to enhance the understanding of social phenomena, influence strategies, foster innovation, and create value across diverse sectors. The impact of digital transformation on society is analyzed through studies of social media data, focusing on the societal and economic effects of advancements in digital technology. This Special Issue assesses the scope of a user’s sentiment and investigates how social media usage affects faculty job performance. An end-to-end learning model is introduced to select the most influential nodes within a social network. This publication features an effective multimodal emotion recognition system designed to improve recognition from audio and text modalities. It also includes a multilingual review of cyber-hate sentiment analysis and presents a multi-domain fake news detection framework, addressing the challenge of class imbalances.
