Summary

The aim of this Special Issue is to describe the different roles that teacher educators play, the challenges they address, and the innovative solutions they find. This Special Issue includes fourteen papers that deal with four different roles: 1. supporting the processes of professional identity formation among novice and experienced teachers; 2. providing opportunities for professional learning to students and teacher colleagues; 3. curriculum building; and 4. developing one’s own professional knowledge and skills through inquiry. Together, these papers show how teacher educators intertwine research into their practice.
