Summary

The aim of this reprint is to immerse the reader in the structural design and operation control of permanent magnet motors, which can be better applied in the drive unit of electric vehicles. Firstly, based on the structural optimal design, permanent magnet motors’ temperature rise will be reduced, and their magnetic field can be utilized efficiently. Then, with the proper operation control technology, permanent magnet motors’ operational performance, such as starting, constant speed, speed regulation, and braking, can be improved.
