This is a Reprint of the Special Issue Mechanical Behavior and Reliability of Engineering Ceramics that was published in
Chemistry & Materials Science
Summary
The aim of this Special Issue was to bring together papers that advance recent understanding of the mechanical behavior and reliability of engineering ceramic materials, in relation to their microstructure and manufacturing processes. It contains one comprehensive review and 13 research papers, addressing different types of engineering ceramic materials, including zirconia-toughened ceramics and composites, high-entropy ceramics, and engineered cementitious composites. Their important mechanical properties or reliability are discussed in terms of composition, microstructure or manufacturing process.
