Summary
In light of the remarkable advancements in perinatal and neonatal care, neonatal and infant mortality rates have declined substantially over recent decades. Nevertheless, many infants continue to experience serious neurological, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and other complications despite current standard therapies. While emerging approaches such as fetal therapy, cell therapy, therapeutic medical gases, and monoclonal antibody therapies offer promising opportunities to improve outcomes, a deeper understanding of disease pathophysiology and the development of innovative therapeutic strategies remain essential. This Special Issue, “Neonatal Disease: From Pathophysiology to Current and Emerging Therapeutic Approaches (2nd Edition)”, brings together original research articles and comprehensive reviews highlighting recent advances in neonatal medicine. The contributions encompass a broad range of topics, including the pathophysiology of neonatal diseases, translational and clinical investigations of emerging therapies, and studies exploring the molecular mechanisms underlying pharmacological interventions in neonatal care. By integrating advances in basic science, translational research, and clinical medicine, this Special Issue aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and stimulate innovation in the prevention and treatment of neonatal diseases.
