8th National Immunisation Workshop and Confernce
Welcome to our 8th New Zealand Immunisation Conference and pre-conference Workshop.
We hope that you can join us in Auckland at the Waipuna Hotel and Conference Centre, on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 September 2013, with the pre-conference Workshop on Tuesday 10 September.
2013 should be a time for celebration, our immunisation rates have demonstrated an increased acceptance and engagement amongst families choosing to immunise. It provides an excellent opportunity to raise our own focus to beyond the horizon: Once we achieve our goals, what next? As well as maintaining levels of immunisation, what other challenges can we take on? What will the future hold?
The programme for 2013 is still being finalised, but at this stage there are five plenary sessions with breakout sessions allowing additional presentations and discussions around these themes:
- Disease control: Understanding the enemy
- Global lessons: Immunisation in other regions
- Vaccine safety: Post marketing surveillance
- Communications: The web, blogs, successes and challenges
- New schedules: Vaccinating adults and other specialised programmes
- Future vaccines: Emerging vaccines for strep, staph, RS and others
