Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This article is concerning o the uptake of BA in NC sPS and PPO. In the small cavities of NC δ phase, BA is isolated, whereas that in the larger cavities with channel structure of NC ε phase, BA present as dimers. In addition, NC PPO with large cavities also uptake BA which present as dimers. These results were evaluated by polarized IR and X-ray diffraction. The conclusions are very interesting, so I recommend this article to be published in the journal after considering the following comments.

Line 160: The author estimated the percentage of isolated BA. The author should make clear which peak was used to estimate them.

Line 285: “NC crystalline δ and ε” should be “NC δ and ε”.

Line 288: “co-crystalline ε” should be “CC ε”.

Line 290: “co-crystalline δ phases” should be “CC δ phase”.

Reviewer 2 Report

This paper describes physical behavior of benzoic acid in polymeric materials. Experimental and its discussion are well written to be understand the results. I recommend this article to be published in this journal.
