Niels Thevs


Dr. Niels Thevs earned his PhD in Landscape Ecology from the University of Greifswald in 2006. Afterwards, he developed and initiated a number of research projects in the field of sustainable land use and water resource management across Central Asia at the University of Greifswald. From 2014 until 2020, he headed the Central Asia Office of World Agroforestry and coordinated projects on agroforestry and forest landscape restoration. In this context, he built cooperation with actors from the field of bioeconomy. In 2021, Dr. Thevs was appointed to GIZ to work on the soil climate nexus.
