MDPI Books Reaches 10,000 Reprints Milestone
MDPI Books is pleased to announce that we have reached 10,000 reprints, marking an important milestone for the program and reflecting the continued collaboration between the Journals and Books teams. This achievement highlights the growing value of reprints within MDPI’s broader publishing mission and the increasing interest from authors, editors, and scholars alike.
The reprints initiative grew from MDPI’s commitment to Open Access and its goal of making scholarly content more widely available. As MDPI’s journal portfolio expanded, many editors and authors began seeking ways to give curated collections of published articles a second life. In response, the reprints library was introduced in 2013 as a formal publishing option, enabling previously published MDPI articles to be reproduced without modification and assembled into cohesive thematic volumes.
What began as a practical solution for repurposing high‑quality research has since evolved into a structured and valued component of MDPI Books. Reprints now serve as an additional channel for disseminating scholarship, offering readers convenient access to focused collections while extending the visibility and impact of existing work. This format also supports MDPI’s Open Access principles by ensuring that curated knowledge remains freely accessible and easy to discover.
Reaching this milestone represents the dedication of the teams involved and the ongoing demand for accessible, well‑organised academic content. As the reprint library continues to grow, MDPI Books remains committed to expanding our publications and exploring new ways to support the scholarly community.
We look forward to sharing further developments as the program continues to evolve.
