The Effect of Gamma Irradiation on the Physiochemical Properties of Caesium-Selective Ammonium Phosphomolybdate–Polyacrylonitrile (AMP–PAN) Composites
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The article presents the experimental study on the physiochemical properties of Gamma irradiation on Cs-selective AMP and AMP-PAN ion exchange composites. Its content, novelty and industrial importance make it a good fit for Clean Technologies. I would strongly suggest the article for publication. The paper is well written, well structured, and clear. The title clearly describes the contents of the paper. The abstract provides a concise and complete summary and the reference list is appropriate. Before final publication, a few comments that the authors could take into account:
Pg 4, Ln 125, “jet nebulizer, 36” I assume this is a typo. 36 should be a reference in brackets.
Figure 7 and Figure A3: scale bars are not readable.
References: The reference format could be made more uniform and consistent. For example: [22], [27], [43], and [51] publishing year should be in bold font. [49] publishing year is missing. Please revise the references and make sure all bibliographical details, numbering in the list of references must be consistent, complete and accurate.

Reviewer 2 Report
In this article, authors address the effects of gamma irradiation on the physiochemical properties of AMP and AMP-PAN using a range of characterization methods. The potential of ion exchange in spent-fuel recycling for more efficient, safe, and economical with holistic waste management. The effects of the same gamma dose on the oxidation state of Mo in AMP and AMP-PAN, the thermal degradation of both AMP and AMP-PAN, combined with a first study into the high-temperature degradation AMP, are clearly discussed. The implications of irradiation, its possible mechanism, the conditions present in SNF recycling, and for the end-of-life disposal or recycling of these materials are also discussed. The comparative analysis drawn in this article and their previous report provides the basic information and I recommend this article for publication in Clean Technol.Author Response
