Round 1

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThis paper is extremely well written. It is well structured and organized. The references are appropriate and help in the construction of the argument. There is a significant need in EPPs for program assessment and evaluation in regard to this topic so the paper will be timely and important. I very rarely recommend manuscripts without revisions but this one is ready for publication in my opinion.

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThis is a highly relevant investigation of a program attempting to earnestly engage with recent DEI standards. It provides sound suggestions that were culled from a comprehensive self-study. The only suggestion I would make is to possibly find an additional source to center the idea on beyond Milner (2010), as this citation is 14 years old at this point.
Author Response
Yes, we do understand that Milner (2010) is dated but this is a seminal piece in teacher education and Milner is a prominent scholar whose work remains relevant even 14 years later. I think the date is important and lends credence to the fact that it is 2024 and we are still seeking EPPs and teacher education spaces to consider preparing teachers with a critical consciousness lens. We recognize and appreciate the nuance you underscore. Thank you for reviewing our paper.
