Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Millimeter wave (mmWave) sensors are being increasingly utilized across a variety of essential domains such as automotive vehicles, security systems, and robotics, distinguished by their superior capability to capture motion details and maintain reliable performance under challenging weather and environmental scenarios. This Special Issue is dedicated to showcasing cutting-edge research and advancements in the field of mmWave sensor technology.

This Special Issue will cover a broad spectrum of topics related to mmWave sensors, from theoretical research and experimental efforts to real-world applications. Submissions are invited from across all aspects of mmWave sensor technology, including novel sensor design, signal processing, advanced artificial intelligence-aided sensing models, integrated system development, and evaluation benchmarks. Furthermore, we are eager to see papers that delve into the innovative applications of mmWave sensors in forefront areas such as cybersecurity, autonomous driving, wireless sensing, environmental monitoring, human–computer interaction, and the biomedical and healthcare fields. These contributions should aim to broaden the scope of current applications for mmWave sensors, showcasing their critical role in enhancing operational efficiency, safety, trustworthiness, and the overall user experience and underscoring the wide-ranging impact of this technology.

We hope to create a vibrant platform for researchers, engineers, and industry professionals to exchange knowledge, innovative ideas, and the latest trends in mmWave sensor technology. Through promoting cross-disciplinary exploration, this issue aims to advance the application of mmWave sensors and unveil new pathways for their use.

For this Special Issue, we invite contributions from researchers and developers across all areas related to millimeter wave sensors and their applications, encompassing both scientific and industrial perspectives. We welcome original manuscripts that primarily focus on, but are not limited to, the following fields:

  • New fields of millimeter wave sensor technology and applications;
  • Millimeter wave measurements and system design;
  • Millimeter wave sensor design and signal processing;
  • AI-enhanced millimeter wave technology;
  • Millimeter wave imaging;
  • Millimeter wave propagation and communication;
  • Security and safety in millimeter wave applications.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
