20–24 October 2024 Sustainable Industrial Processing Summit 2024

Crete, Greece

The Sustainable Industrial Processing Summit (SIPS) is a yearly event, held since 2003, that is deeply science-focused and industrial engineering-oriented, organized by the not-for-profit corporation FLOGEN Stars Outreach (www.flogen.org) and dedicated to achieving sustainability through science and technology.

SIPS 2024 will be held in Crete, Greece, from 20th to 24th October 2024 in the Out of the Blue Resort and is, as a whole, dedicated to Modern Hellenism and in honor of the Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, Prof. Avram Hershko. The summit’s website can be found at the following link: https://flogen.org/sips2024/. We have also confirmed the participation of many Nobel Laureates.

The summit is based on the FLOGEN Sustainability Framework, as described by Dr. Florian Kongoli in his opening Plenary Lecture at the United Nations Meeting in Geneva in February 2022 (https://www.flogen.org/?p=33&an=2022&m=2). It covers three sustainability pillars: (1) Science, Technology, and Industry, (2) Governance and Management, and (3) Education and Civil Society, as described in the left-hand side picture and in its corresponding publication, found at the following link:
https://flogen.org/pdf/sips16_524FS.pdf.

SIPS incorporates summit plenary lectures from well-known speakers that address the link between scientific and engineering domains in the pursuit of sustainable development, as well as specific science and engineering symposia that feature scientific and technical presentations with the same goals in mind. SIPS Publications over the years are indexed in Google Scholar, where we have more than 3600 records (http://surl.li/sfurf). Google Scholar Citation Indexes for our publications are as follows: h index = 38 and i10 index = 170 (http://surl.li/sfurl).

The summit simultaneously incorporates numerous international symposia covering the fields of science and technology (the full symposia list can be found here: https://www.flogen.org/sips2024/summit.php?p=14#content_top), including the Anastassakis International Symposium on Sustainable Mineral Processing: Principles, Technologies and Industrial Practice, which is being organized in honor of the distinguished work and lifetime achievements of Prof. Georgios Anastassakis, a very well-known professional with a large impact on Sustainable Mineral Processing: Principles, Technologies, and Industrial Practice (https://www.flogen.org/sips2024/Georgios_Anastassakis.php). This major international symposium focuses on modern process mineralogy (refractory and complex ores, etc.), sustainability and extractive industry, new processes/technologies in mineral processing and extractive metallurgy, strategic and REE minerals processing, energy efficiency and sustainable development, economic aspects in mineral processing, and battery recycling. These and many others are among the topics of the symposium.

Please find below the link where you can submit your abstract: https://www.flogen.org/sips2024/abstract_submission.php?p=35#content_top.

The following is the link to register for the conference: https://www.flogen.org/sips2024/eRegistration.php#content_top.

We look forward to seeing you in Crete, Greece!
