Intracellular and Plasma Membranes

A section of Cells (ISSN 2073-4409).

Section Information

The “Intracellular and Plasma Membrane” section of Cells will consider manuscripts, including original research, review articles, communications, and technical notes, focusing on processes occurring at the plasma membrane and in intracellular membrane-bound organelles, including the nuclear membrane, endoplasmic reticulum, and endolysosomal membrane, among others, in health and disease. Inter-organelle communication and membrane contact sites are also of interest, as they regulate cell function. Manuscripts on the biogenesis and membrane interactions of extracellular vesicles are also welcome. Research presented should highlight novel phenomena and/or conceptual/technical advances in the field.

Keywords

plasma membrane; plasma membrane; endosomes/multivesicular bodies; ion channels; lysosomes; endoplasmic reticulum; organelle crosstalk; cell polarity; membrane traffic; extracellular vesicle biogenesis; extracellular vesicle communication
