Conservation, Volume 3, Issue 4
2023 December - 7 articles
Cover Story: This paper describes the development of a transdisciplinary knowledge network that supports agroecology knowledge exchange and capacity building focused on the sustainable use and conservation of agrobiodiversity. The fostering effective agroecology for sustainable transformation (FEAST) network includes nodes in Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, and Canada’s Northwest Territories and has been engaged in participatory action research since 2015. We examine the development of the network over time, reflect on the outcomes and points of connection, and discuss how the development of the FEAST network has informed participants’ local practice and their sense of solidarity with a larger-scale, international movement for agroecology, agrobiodiversity conservation, and food-system sustainability.
