Cover Story: Plastic waste presents a significant environmental challenge worldwide, with vast quantities accumulating in landfills and oceans. However, amidst this crisis lies a potential solution: the valorization of plastic waste to produce highly efficient CO2 adsorbents. By repurposing plastic waste through innovative processes such as pyrolysis, it can be transformed into activated carbons or other adsorbent materials capable of capturing CO2 from industrial emissions and other sources. This approach not only addresses the pressing issue of plastic pollution but also contributes to mitigating climate change by providing a sustainable means of reducing CO2 levels in the atmosphere.
