Background/Objectives: Military Service Members (SMs) require optimal nutrition to support health, readiness, and job performance. However, they often fall short of meeting nutrition guidelines. This study aimed to determine the impact and feasibility of implementing the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) “Fueled to Fight®” (F2F) nutrition program in non-appropriated fund (NAF) food venues. Objectives included evaluating changes in Military Nutrition Environment Assessment Tool (mNEAT) scores, feasibility of implementing and maintaining F2F strategies, and influence on customer purchasing patterns. Methods: Researchers conducted a pre-post interventional study from January to December 2024 at three NAF food venues across two USMC bases. F2F strategies, including identifying items using a stoplight color coding system (Green = healthy, Yellow = less healthy, Red = least healthy), menu revisions, food placement, promotion, and marketing, were implemented. Data included mNEAT assessments, sales reports, and stakeholder focus groups. Generalized Estimating Equations models were used to analyze sales data. Results: mNEAT scores increased across all venues post-intervention. Availability and sales of Green items increased, while sales of Red items decreased in some venues. Profit increased at all three food venues. Focus groups revealed feasibility and provided insights for future interventions. Conclusions: F2F interventions in NAF food venues are feasible and can positively impact the food environment and customer purchasing patterns without negatively affecting profit. This study highlights the importance of integrating nutrition programs into all military food venues, not just government-funded dining facilities, to support the nutritional fitness and readiness of SMs. Full article

This study combines text mining and binary logit model to analyze the main influencing factors of consumers’ purchase intention for new energy vehicles (NEVs) in Urumqi. Through the analysis of 34,561 consumer reviews and 400 valid questionnaire data, the study found that battery technology, sales price, and policy support have a significant impact on purchase intention. Based on the differences in consumers’ price sensitivity, technology preference, and policy support, this paper segments consumers into six groups. Based on these findings, we propose policy recommendations to optimize subsidy policies, promote battery technology upgrades, and improve charging infrastructure, in order to drive the development of the NEV market. Measuring antimicrobial use (AMU) in animal production can provide useful data for monitoring AMU over time, which will promote antimicrobial resistance (AMR) reduction. This study involved the daily collation and validation of active primary drug sales and prescription data from veterinary outlets and clinics of the Kaduna metropolis. In total, 83.7% of the identified antimicrobials were in the form of oral medication, and most were registered antibiotics (52.8%). Parenteral and topical forms were also identified, with 94% also being antibiotics. The estimated AMU was 282 mg/kg population correction unit (PCU). Poultry represented the most significant population, constituting 99% (31,502,004) of the study population. The class-specific AMU was antibiotics, with 274 mg/kg PCU. The antiprotozoal AMU was 418 mg/kg PCU. The anthelminthic AMU was the highest at 576 mg/kg PCU. This study has provided useful and practical information on the trends in antimicrobial use in animals, with poultry being the most important animal population involved in AMU and oxytetracycline being the most abused antibiotic in animal production. Antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) should be targeted at poultry populations, with an emphasis on reducing antibiotic use/consumption. Full article

Museums may acquire archaeological artefacts discovered by non-specialists or amateur archaeologists, holding the potential to promote the safeguarding of cultural heritage by integrating the local community in their activities. However, this also creates an opportunity for the fraudulent sale of modern forgeries presented as archaeological artefacts, resulting in the need for a critical assessment of the artefact’s authenticity prior to acquisition by the museum. In 2019, the regional museum in Cáceres (Spain) was offered the opportunity to acquire a Phoenician-Punic head pendant, allegedly discovered in the vicinity of the city. The artefact’s authenticity was assessed by traditional approaches, including typological analysis and analysis of manufacture technique, which raised doubts about its purported age. VP-SEM-EDS analysis of the chemical composition of the different glass portions comprising the pendant was used for non-invasive determination of glassmaking recipes, enabling the identification of glass components incompatible with known Iron Age glassmaking recipes from the Mediterranean. Further comparison with historical and modern glassmaking recipes allowed for the identification of the artefact as a recent forgery made from glasses employing modern colouring and opacifying techniques. In the context of eco-friendly e-commerce, understanding the psychological and experiential mechanisms that drive consumers’ online purchasing behavior is essential for promoting sustainable platform development. This study aims to fill a critical gap in the literature by examining how social interaction, entertainment, and sales promotion influence consumers’ purchase intentions through the mediating roles of perceived value and immersive flow experience. Grounded in the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S-O-R) theoretical framework, we developed a structural model and conducted an empirical analysis using survey data collected from 438 online shoppers. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS and AMOS through SEM. The results show that social interaction and sales promotion significantly enhance both perceived value and flow experience, which in turn positively influence consumers’ purchase intentions. However, entertainment exhibits a negative and significant effect on perceived value and does not significantly affect flow experience, indicating that hedonic content may not always translate into perceived usefulness or deep engagement. Moreover, the influence of social interaction on flow experience was also found to be negative and significant, suggesting that not all forms of interaction necessarily lead to immersive experiences. These findings highlight the complex psychological dynamics in digital consumption. This study contributes original insights by integrating psychological engagement mechanisms with the goal of digital sustainability, offering practical implications for online retailers aiming to enhance user engagement and platform longevity through experience-driven strategies. This study explores the potential of immersive virtual reality (IVR) to enhance knowledge transfer in vocational education, particularly in bridging the gap between academic learning and practical workplace application. The focus lies on relevant predictors for actual learning transfer, namely knowledge acquisition and the transfer-related self-efficacy. Additionally, the Cognitive Affective Model of Immersive Learning (CAMIL) is used to investigate potential predictors in IVR learning. This approach allows for empirical testing of the CAMIL and validation of its assumptions using empirical data. To address the research questions, a quasi-experimental field study was conducted with 141 retail trainees at a German vocational school. Participants were assigned to either an IVR group or a control group receiving traditional instruction. The intervention spanned four teaching sessions of 90 min each, focusing on the design of a retail sales area based on sales-promoting principles. To assess subject-related learning outcomes, a domain-specific knowledge test was developed. In addition, transfer-related self-efficacy and other relevant constructs were measured using Likert-scale questionnaires. The results show that IVR-based instruction significantly improves knowledge acquisition and transfer-related self-efficacy compared to traditional teaching methods. In terms of the CAMIL-based mechanisms, significant correlations were found between transfer-related self-efficacy and factors such as interest, motivation, academic self-efficacy, embodiment, and self-regulation. Additionally, correlations were found between knowledge acquisition and relevant predictors such as interest, motivation, and self-regulation. These findings underscore IVR’s potential to facilitate knowledge transfer in vocational school, highlighting the need for further research on its long-term effects and the actual application of learned skills in real-world settings. Against the background of intensifying human–land contradictions, evaluation of land use benefits and identification of obstacles are crucial for sustainable land management and socioeconomic development. Taking Henan Province as an example, this research employed the entropy weight method and TOPSIS model to assess the land use benefits across its cities from 2011 to 2020, a period of rapid land use transformation, analyzed their spatiotemporal evolution, and identified key obstacles via an obstacle degree model. The results showed the following. (1) The social land use benefits consistently exceeded the ecological and economic benefits, with steady improvements observed in both the individual and comprehensive benefits. Spatially, the benefits showed a “one city dominant” pattern, decreasing gradually from the central region to the south, north, east, and west, with this spatial gradient further intensifying over time. (2) Economic factors were the primary obstacles, with significantly higher obstruction degrees than social or ecological factors. The main obstacles were the general budget revenue of government finance per unit land area, domestic garbage removal volume, and total retail sales of social consumer goods per unit land area. (3) The policy implications focus on strengthening regional differentiated development by leveraging Zhengzhou’s core role to boost the land-based economic benefits, integrating social–ecological strengths with agricultural modernization, and promoting “core–periphery linkage” to narrow gaps through targeted industrial and infrastructure strategies. This study could provide region-specific insights for sustainable land management in agricultural provinces undergoing rapid urbanization. Full article

The commercialization of Km 0 agricultural and livestock products represents a strategic opportunity to enhance rural economic resilience and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the food sector. This paper presents an original, policy-oriented framework that connects Km 0 distribution models with measurable CO2 reductions, proposing a structured system of economic incentives to support their adoption. Grounded in a mixed-methods approach, including normative analysis, empirical modeling, and a regional case study in Galicia, Spain, we demonstrate the alignment of Km 0 policies with the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2023–2027 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Findings reveal substantial potential for environmental mitigation, improved farm profitability, and revitalization of rural economies. This work provides a comprehensive roadmap for integrating Km 0 into national agricultural strategies, supported by data-driven justification and scalable implementation models. Full article

The objective of this study was to evaluate the physiological, biochemical, and productive effects of the foliar application of bioregulators, based on auxin, cytokinin, and gibberellic acid, on yellow melon, cultivar DALI®, plants subjected to different salinity levels in a protected environment to simulate Brazil’s semi-arid conditions. The experiment was conducted using a completely randomized block design, in a 4 × 3 factorial scheme, with four salinity levels (0, 2, 4, and 6 dS m−1) and three doses of the bioregulator, Stimulate® (0%, 100%, and 150% of the recommended dose), with six weekly applications. The physiological variables (chlorophyll a fluorescence and gas exchange) and biochemical parameters (antioxidant enzyme activity and lipid peroxidation) were evaluated at 28 and 42 days after transplanting, and the agronomic traits (fresh fruit mass, physical attributes, and post-harvest quality) were evaluated at the end of the experiment. The results indicated that salinity impaired the physiological and productive performance of the plants, especially at higher levels (4 and 6 dS m−1), causing oxidative stress, reduced photosynthesis, and decreased yield. However, the application of the bioregulator at the 100% dose mitigated the effects of salt stress under moderate salinity (2 dS m−1), promoting higher CO2 assimilation rates of up to 31.5%, better water-use efficiency, and reduced lipid peroxidation. In addition, the fruits showed a greater mass of up to 66%, thicker pulp, and higher soluble solids (> 10 °Brix) content, making them suitable for sale in the market. The 150% dose did not provide additional benefits and, in some cases, resulted in inhibitory effects. It is concluded that the application of Stimulate® at the recommended dose is effective in mitigating the effects of moderate salinity, up to ~3 dS m−1, in yellow melon crops; however, its effectiveness is limited under high salinity conditions, requiring the use of complementary strategies. Accurate retail demand forecasting is integral to the operational efficiency of any retail business. As demand is described over time, the prediction of demand is a time-series forecasting problem which may be addressed in a univariate manner, via statistical methods and simplistic machine learning approaches, or in a multivariate fashion using generic deep learning forecasters that are well-established in other fields. This study analyzes, optimizes, trains and tests such forecasters, namely the Temporal Fusion Transformer and the Temporal Convolutional Network, alongside the recently proposed Time-Series Mixer, to accurately forecast retail demand given a dataset of historical sales in 45 stores with their accompanied features. Moreover, the present work proposes a novel extension of the Time-Series Mixer architecture, the LSTMixer, which utilizes an additional Long Short-Term Memory block to achieve better forecasts. The results indicate that the proposed LSTMixer model is the better predictor, whilst all the other aforementioned models outperform the common statistical and machine learning methods. An ablation test is also performed to ensure that the extension within the LSTMixer design is responsible for the improved results. The findings promote the use of deep learning models for retail demand forecasting problems and establish LSTMixer as a viable and efficient option. Full article

From Online Markets to Green Fields: Unpacking the Impact of Farmers’ E-Commerce Participation on Green Production Technology Adoption

Amid the global push for agricultural green transformation, sustainable agriculture requires not only technological innovation but also market mechanisms that effectively incentivize green practices. Agricultural e-commerce is increasingly viewed as a potential driver of green technology diffusion among farmers. However, the extent and mechanism of e-commerce’s influence on farmers’ green production remain underexplored. Using survey data from 346 rural households in Inner Mongolia, China, this study develops a conceptual framework of “e-commerce participation–green cognition–green adoption” and employs propensity score matching (PSM) combined with mediation analysis to evaluate the impact of e-commerce participation on green technology adoption. The empirical results yield four main findings: (1) E-commerce participation significantly promotes the adoption of green production technologies, with an estimated 29.52% increase in adoption. (2) Participation has a strong positive effect on water-saving irrigation and pest control technologies at the 5% significance level, a moderate effect on straw incorporation at the 10% level, and no statistically significant impact on plastic film recycling or organic fertilizer use. (3) Compared to third-party sales, the direct e-commerce model more effectively promotes green technology adoption, with an increase of 21.64% at the 5% significance level. (4) Green cognition serves as a mediator in the relationship between e-commerce and green adoption behavior. This study makes contributions by introducing e-commerce participation as a novel explanatory pathway for green technology adoption, going beyond traditional policy-driven and resource-based perspectives. It further highlights the role of cognitive mechanisms in shaping adoption behaviors. The study recommends that policymakers subsidize farmers’ participation in e-commerce, invest in green awareness programs, and support differentiated e-commerce models to enhance their positive impact on sustainable agricultural practices. Environmental and Economic Impacts of V2X Applications in Electric Vehicles: A Long-Term Perspective for China

Electric vehicles (EVs) play a critical role in the transition to transportation electrification and are important for achieving carbon neutrality in this sector. China currently leads the world in EV ownership; however, the energy regulation potential of in-use batteries remains largely untapped in the context of an increasingly saturated EV stock. This study systematically evaluates the long-term benefits of vehicle-to-everything (V2X) applications based on EV sales projections and advancements in battery technology. The results indicate that, without compromising daily travel requirements, V2X applications could enable 109.50–422.37 TWh of annual electricity dispatch by 2030, achieving an estimated economic benefit of 198.92–767.25 billion CNY, and reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 45.01–173.60 Mt. By 2060, these figures are projected to increase significantly, with annual dispatchable electricity reaching 4217.39–21,689.43 TWh, generating an economic value of 10.82–55.66 trillion CNY, and reducing CO2 emissions by 118.09–607.30 Mt. Furthermore, V2X applications could substantially contribute to achieving the emission reduction targets outlined in China’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). These findings highlight that V2X applications, as a transformative solution that promotes deep integration between the transportation and power sectors, enhance cross-sectoral emission reduction synergies and support the realization of carbon neutrality goals. Eliminating all forms of poverty is a core component of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. At the household level, poverty and income inequality significantly threaten farmers’ sustainable development and food security. Based on a sample of 1234 kiwi farmers from the Shaanxi and Sichuan provinces in China, this paper empirically examines the impact of participation in agricultural industry organizations (AIOs) on household income and income inequality, as well as the underlying mechanisms. The results indicate the following: (1) Participation in AIOs increased farmers’ average household income by approximately 19,570 yuan while simultaneously reducing the income inequality index by an average of 4.1%. (2) Participation increases household income and mitigates income inequality through three mechanisms: promoting agricultural production, enhancing sales premiums, and improving human capital. (3) After addressing endogeneity concerns, farmers participating in leading agribusiness enterprises experienced an additional average income increase of 21,700 yuan compared to those participating in agricultural cooperatives. Therefore, it is recommended to optimize the farmer–enterprise linkage mechanisms within agricultural industry organizations, enhance technical training programs, and strengthen production–marketing integration and market connection systems, aiming to achieve both increased farmer income and improved income distribution. As an emerging e-commerce model, live streaming e-commerce integrates instant interaction, content marketing, and online sales to bring consumers a new shopping experience. However, there are many risks in the process of live e-commerce transactions. Identifying key risk factors and implementing targeted control measures are crucial for promoting the sustainable and healthy development of live streaming e-commerce. This paper firstly constructs a business model of live streaming e-commerce transactions according to the transaction scenario and summarizes 24 risk factors from the three dimensions of live streaming e-commerce platforms, merchants, and anchors based on relevant national standards and other relevant literature. Secondly, the Delphi method is employed to modify and optimize the initial risk factors. On this basis, the social network model of risk factors is constructed to determine the influence relationship among risk factors. By calculating the degree centrality, factor types are segmented, and key risk factors as well as influence paths are identified. Finally, corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are proposed. The results indicate that Credit Evaluation System Perfection, Service Evaluation System Perfection, Qualification Audit Mechanism Perfection, Dispute Complaint Handling Channels Perfection, Risk Identification Mechanism Perfection, Platform Qualification, Merchant Qualification, and Merchant Credit are the critical risk factors affecting live streaming e-commerce transactions. Background/Objectives: The urine sodium/potassium (Na/K) ratio can potentially be used to detect dietary habits that contribute to hypertension. In this prospective cohort interventional trial, we aimed to verify whether private insurance sales staff can help clients change their lifestyle habits based on their urinalysis results. Methods: Clients of the life insurance company (20–65 years old) who were considered to have “high risk” lifestyle factors, which was defined as having high values for two or more of the following indicators: body mass index, blood pressure, triglycerides, liver enzymes, and glucose metabolism, were included. The clients were randomly assigned to three groups: a face-to-face (FF) intervention by sales staff (n = 83), non-FF (Non-FF) intervention via a social networking service (n = 87), and no intervention (Control) (n = 58). Urinalysis and surveys about diet and exercise habits were conducted before and after a 3-month interventional period in all groups. Three interventions were performed for the FF and Non-FF groups, including dietary advice based on urinalysis results, education encouraging reduced salt intake and increased locomotor activity, and viewing an educational video. The Control group only received their urinalysis results by mail. Results: The participants’ mean age was 44.0 years old. Significant improvements in estimated potassium intake were observed in the Non-FF group, and significant reductions in urine Na/K ratios were noted in both the FF and Non-FF groups. Multiple logistic regression analysis indicated that watching the video was the most effective factor for decreasing the urine Na/K ratio (odds ratio = 1.869). The total points for dietary behavior, based on the questionnaire, significantly improved among the individuals who watched the video. Conclusions: This study demonstrates the potential for private health insurance companies to contribute to health promotion and introduces a novel strategy for improving lifestyle habits among individuals at high risk of lifestyle-related diseases.
